Service Description
Discover the process of creating beautifully fumed, functional glass pieces using borosilicate glass at the torch. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to apply precious metal fumes (like silver and gold) to add rich, iridescent color to your work, while shaping functional forms such as spoons and pipes. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, this class offers the perfect introduction to both technique and flameworking. What You’ll Take Away from This Class: • Fuming Fundamentals: Learn how to fume with silver and gold to create stunning color effects in your glass. • Torch & Tools: Gain confidence working at the torch and using tools specific to flameworking. • Functional Forms: Shape and finish your own spoons or pipes — balancing form and function. • Your Own Glass Piece: Leave with a one-of-a-kind, fumed glass creation. • Studio Access: Build the skills needed to rent studio time and continue exploring on your own. Maximum participants: 5 per class • Class will be taught in English • Must be at least 18 years old Studio Location: Provinzstraße 42a, 13409 Berlin. The studio is located in a large factory complex, behind the biggest brick building on site. If arriving by car, you’re welcome to drive in and park directly at the studio. Parking is free! Please enter throught the back door.
